Beelt begins a new project at Quinta da Alorna

Beelt has been chosen as the contractor responsible for the rehabilitation and expansion of one of the spaces at the historic Quinta da Alorna in Almeirim, a century-old landmark with more than 300 years of history in Portugal’s wine industry.

The project focuses exclusively on one of the estate’s buildings, which will be transformed into a new venue for events and institutional promotion of Quinta da Alorna. Designed by the architectural studio Miguel Lopo de Carvalho Arquitectos, the project features a careful intervention that combines restoration techniques with new construction.

The work includes expanding the built area through the construction of a new area extension for technical and logistics support, as well as the rehabilitation of two central spaces: the future José Santos Room, which will occupy a former wine cellar, and the new Wine Library of Quinta da Alorna, to be installed in the old dovecote.

These two spaces play both a symbolic and functional role: the José Santos Room will serve as a venue dedicated to wine tourism and events, while the Wine Library will function as a hub for preserving and communicating the brand’s history.

Among the chosen materials and construction solutions are Lioz limestone finishes, polished concrete, and black cork, along with the restoration of original structural elements, ensuring continuity with the architectural language of the existing building.

This project reinforces Beelt’s ability to operate in demanding architectural contexts that combine memory and modernity. In the Quinta da Alorna project, the technical precision is essential to bringing the client’s and architect’s vision to life.
