São Bento
Beelt has completed the rehabilitation of the São Bento building in Lisbon for the real estate developer Trirhena. Designed by the architectural studio Saraiva + Associados, the building, comprising five apartments and a retail unit, now gains new functionality and comfort.
The intervention began with a property in an advanced state of degradation and included the reinforcement of the peripheral walls using micro-concrete, the construction of a new steel structure, the implementation of fire-resistant solutions, and the creation of a new vertical access with an elevator.
The finishes highlight a strong presence of lioz limestone, in a project that combines the preservation of the original architectural identity with the introduction of contemporary solutions that ensure the building’s durability and long-term value.
Due to the site’s constraints, located along one of Lisbon’s main tram routes, the project required adjustments to the usual workflow, including the phased execution of certain operations. These challenges did not compromise the quality or the final result of this rehabilitation:
